Willie L. Wilson is a Chicago businessman and philanthropist who built success across restaurants, medical supplies, and media. After moving to Chicago in 1965, he worked his way from mopping floors at McDonald’s to owning five franchises before founding Omar Medical Supplies. He created and produced Singsation, a nationally syndicated gospel TV program that earned a Chicago/Midwest Emmy® in 2012. Wilson has supported civic efforts and repeatedly stepped forward in public life, including campaigns for Chicago mayor and the U.S. Senate. Raised in rural Louisiana, Wilson left home at 13, started work earning twenty cents an hour, and credits faith, perseverance, and opportunity for his journey.
